I saw pictures of this quilt when it won at QuiltCon but was amazed at how much more intense it feels in person. It was part of a QuiltCon exhibit at Maine Quilts, the Maine State Quilt Guild's show.
A friend was white-gloving in the room and I hung out and listened to a lot of the comments made by people viewing the display. Maine Quilts is a very traditional show and there was a LOT of variety in the reactions.
oh, I'd love to hear about those comments. TBH, I found talking to Ginny about "what the teachers know" and the fact they have training for shooters (tho little defense) absolutely intense and sobering. I'm so glad this quilt exists.

They ranged though pretty much what you would expect... Why?, What?, Huh? Variations on "Why can't we just have pretty quilts"
I can't help thinking, after hearing about the misbehaving red fabric, that maybe the quilt itself wanted to make a even bigger point.
